Pomegranates are among the healthiest fruits on earth. One of the oldest known fruits, found in writings of many cultures and religions, the pomegranate is a nutrient dense, antioxidant rich fruit and has been revered as a symbol of health. Pomegranates really shine in their content of powerful plant compounds, some of which have rich medicinal properties. The fruit is known to have anti-inflammatory properties, which are largely mediated by the antioxidant properties present in them.

This is a common fruit found in most of the kitchens. Kids love it in almost each form from its glass of juice to eating the seeds directly in their fruit platter. Another recipe of this great fruit loved by all is it’s amalgamation with the creamy yoghurt called “Raita”.
This beautiful and refreshing raita is the perfect antidote to hot and fiery curries. It compliments almost all rice dishes particularly spicier ones of Indian style.

Pomegranate raita even goes well with indian chaat snacks like aloo tikki, papdi chaat, Sabudana patties. It is relished the most during Navratri or any other fasting time as it adds a lot of freshness with the fried food consumed at that time and relieves from heartburn.

Who doesn’t love that burst of tartness in the mouth with each bite of pomegranate seeds? My love for this Red crystal fruit has grown leaps and bounds over years. This Red and White raita is a perfect center piece on dinner table. The sight of this gorgeously decked up raita steals everyone’s attention even when served with a lot of dishes on the table. So let’s get started with the fruity creamy raita !!!
