One of the top things that holds back anyone from pursuing their dreams is the fear of failure. This is a very common thing that most of the people experience at least once in their lifetime. Confidence is that intangible or abstract thing which makes the difference between feeling unstoppable and feeling scared. Self-confidence is the most striking trait that one can have and yet it’s the one that many often struggle with.

That being said, let me first define the term ‘Confidence’. Confidence is a state of mind. It allows us to have self-worth and believe that we are capable and worthy of success. We are all unique people with goals and dreams that can be accomplished if we start to care about ourselves and let ourselves grow and develop.

The key difference between a person becoming successful and another struggling with mediocrity in life is their level of confidence. Most of the times, people think that it’s better to fit-in than to stand out. They just prefer to follow rather than becoming a role model who could be followed by others. They try to hide their uniqueness behind a layer of ‘Just being Average’ which stops them from growing higher and achieving their dreams. They are always scared of the competition and give-up without trying.

On the other hand, when you feel confident about yourself, your path towards your dreams and success is clearly laid out in front of you, making you unstoppable.

Most of the times, why people lack confidence is due to the fear of others. How would people perceive my decision? How would others react if I state my opinion on a certain topic? What if I fail and others mock at me? These are the common questions that overshadow one’s mind if they are not confident about themselves. This is the category of people who possess a weaker perception about themselves.

Your perception of your own-self has a huge impact on how others perceive you. The simple law of attraction works very well when it comes to self-confidence. What you perceive about yourself becomes your personality and you attract the similar outcomes.

While confidence isn’t born to anyone overnight and neither there’s a magic pill, there are a few actions that one could take to boost one’s self-confidence. Believe me, I have tried many of these actions personally and seen positive results both in personal and professional sides of my life.

  1. Change your Perspective

Changing perspective can change your whole life. By simply changing the perspective & replacing words like “Can’t” and “Problem” with “Can” and “Challenge”, the path to success becomes crystal clear and easy. So, now is the time to change your “Perspective” if you want to build your self-confidence.

  1. Step out of your comfort zone

It can feel really good when you find your comfort zone – especially when it comes to your business or career. But that cozy comfort zone can limit you in life. You might be missing out on opportunities without even knowing what you’re missing out! Expanding your comfort zone can bring a whole new world of excitement, passion, Self-Confidence and fulfillment into your life.

  1. Write Down Your Accomplishments

Think back to all of the accomplishments you’ve had. Grab a pen and a paper and start writing them down. As your list grows, you’ll start to see that not only have you accomplished some impressive things, you are capable of grabbing even more. This simple exercise can help you tune in yourself and make you realize that you’re proficient and extraordinary!

  1. Be Passionate

Being passionate and greedy for your goals can bring sure shot confidence. TRY, TRY and TRY! Never be scared of failing. You fail, fail, fail and then fly like a Phoenix to keep soaring high forever.

  1. Surround yourself with Positive-minded people

Cutting-down negative-minded people from your social list and spending more time with positive-minded people always energizes you and boosts your self-confidence. So, be careful while picking your company. Always be surrounded with people possessing vibrancy and chuck out those who drain your energy.

  1. Think Positive

Positive thinking is an indispensable mental attitude that stems from the roots of our consciousness onto the fruits of our actions. When we make it a habit to constantly “think positive” whatever adversaries may befall us, we are subconsciously acclimatizing our mind to find the good side in everything. Instead of fretting over negative things that might slow us down in our road to success, a better thing to do would be to think positive and anticipate success and happiness to come.

  1. Invest In Your Well-Being

By taking the money you spend on indulgences and rather spending that money on self- improvement, you can empower your mind and body to raise your self-esteem. Whether it’s a meditation retreat, yoga classes, self-improvement courses or simply healthier food, spending money on things that are good for you can make you feel better about yourself.

“Somehow I can’t believe that there are any heights that can’t be scaled by a man who knows the secrets of making dreams come true. This special secret, it seems to me, can be summarized in four C’s. They are curiosity, confidence, courage, and constancy, and the greatest of all is confidence. When you believe in a thing, believe in it all the way, implicitly and unquestionable.” – Walt Disney
