The color Green is symbolic to Mother Nature. Nature has given us wonderful and colorful Vegetables and Fruits. We don’t need to go far to look for the nutrition boost we need in our daily lives. It’s right here in the lap of Mother Nature.
This Green smoothie truly makes you have an affair with the leafy greens and all season fruits. Most of us don’t eat enough dark, leafy greens, or seem to have lost or never had developed taste for them. We rather look for the alternative health and hunt and splurge on the supplements in The Vitamin Shoppe.
If you are among the one I am talking above, you should give this Green Smoothie a try. You would certainly develop your palate after sipping the first few nips, I bet! There are no special preparations for this Green Nutritious Smoothie. You just need to have a blender, leafy greens and fresh or frozen fruits in your refrigerator. You don’t need a special blender to blend this. Even a simple blender will do the job in less than 2 minutes.

Green smoothies are a lifestyle routine. This creamy concoction will take your taste buds for a spin. I have used spinach, banana, peaches and strawberries in my green smoothie. Be sure to use well ripened bananas because they give the smoothie most of its natural sweetness. You can always drizzle a few drops of honey to get the desired sweetness. Though, banana gives a perfect balance to the taste of spinach and berries and other fruits make it even more delectable. This smoothie is loaded with nutrients like iron, calcium, vitamin K, vitamin A, vitamin C, fiber and much more.
This is the quickest food I know of. Hardly takes 5 Minutes to put all the ingredients together and get ready with the Smoothie Bowl! So, no need to skip a breakfast if you are running behind the schedule. This Green Smoothie is so quick to prepare and so filling to keep you satisfied and fresh till noon. And yes, don’t be afraid to experiment with your own combinations. This time, I didn’t have pineapple in my kitchen. Few pineapple chunks if added, easily mask the taste of leafy greens making it so flavorful. You can try replacing spinach with kale as well. And if you avoid dairy, replace yoghurt with coconut water and you are all set to the ‘Green Life’! So, get up now and raise a glass to virtuous health and lifestyle!
Makes 2 Smoothie Bowls
- 2-3 cups raw spinach
- 1 large ripe banana
- 1 cup strawberries
- 1 cup peaches
- 1 cup low-fat yoghurt
- ½ teaspoon chia seeds
- Ice cubes
- Simply combine all the ingredients in a high-speed blender until thick and creamy. You may adjust for your desired consistency by adding ice.
- Serve the Green Smoothie in a bowl rather than a Glass to relish it slowly and to the utmost contentment. Don’t forget to top the smoothie bowl with your favorite fruits, grated coconut flakes, chia seeds etc. to add a feeling of fulfilment.
